How to AUCCCD - December 2024

Many AUCCCD members attended the Annual Conference, held this year in Phoenix, Arizona. The Annual Conference provides the unique opportunity to interact with folks who have the same mix of clinical work and administrative work that makes up the director role. The casual discussions, formal educational sessions, meals, and activities all provide information and support for members. While every director cannot attend the annual conference, there are ways to connect and benefit from the wisdom of your AUCCCD colleagues all year.

The Listserv is an ongoing connection for all members. You can sign up for the listserv and learn how to access the archives of the listserv here: List Serve. Other resources are available from the AUCCCD website, including the Director’s Tool Kit and the Journal of College Student Mental Health . Check out the Upcoming Events listed on the AUCCCD Webpage, under quick links on the right side of the page. Several support groups are offered regularly.

One of the most helpful aspects of the Annual AUCCCD Conference is the “Directors on Duty” program. Experienced directors are available to consult with directors about any aspect of the job. Being able to talk one-on-one with an experienced director is one of the most gratifying learning opportunities at the conference. Another way to benefit from one-on-one interactions with an experienced director is to participate in the Mentor Program.

Any AUCCCD member director can work with an experienced director through the AUCCCD Mentor Program. All members are encouraged to sign up for a seasoned member mentor. Mentor matches take place twice a year, at the end of March and in the beginning of September. Meetings will be held once monthly, coordinated between mentor and mentee. If you would like to request a mentor be assigned to you, please fill out the request form here: Mentor Program.

Please check out the AUCCCD resources and stay connected with your colleagues!
