As counseling centers on college campuses navigate the current tumultuous impacts of national and global issues that impact our work, it remains important to attend to the ever-evolving role of the counseling center on college and university campuses, addressing issues that have been salient over the past decade.  This webinar will review key points from the AUCCCD Position Paper ESSENTIAL: The Roles and Impacts of the University and College Counseling Center, highlighting the many essential roles that centers can have on their campuses, and exploring some considerations and questions likely to emerge from more senior college administrators  about these roles and how they might be realized at your institution.   Our aim is to offer directors some concepts and strategies, from both seasoned counseling center Directors and an Assistant Vice President for Health and Wellbeing, toward promoting ongoing discussion among fellow directors about the direction of our profession---- and between directors and their staff members regarding the challenges and opportunities you encounter in leading efforts related to mental health on your campuses.

THE ESSENTIAL ROLES OF COLLEGE COUNSELING CENTERS:  How on-campus mental health services impact student success and the greater campus community
(For Higher Education Administrators)
October 3 | 12:00 - 1:00 PM EST - REGISTER

As Higher Education navigates the current tumultuous impacts of national and global issues on colleges and universities, attending to the challenges of the past decade regarding the success and wellbeing of students remains a highly salient and important priority.   Following the release by AUCCCD of the position paper ESSENTIAL: The Roles and Impacts of the University and College Counseling Center, this webinar will review key points from that paper, examples of how the ideas presented can be implemented, and acknowledge necessary considerations needed in defining the roles of the college counseling center in Higher Education.  A foundational assumption from this position paper is the need for an integrated and coordinated ecology of support for students.  To that end, this webinar will feature insights from seasoned college or university counseling center Directors, including an Assistant Vice President for Health and Wellbeing, offering Higher Education professionals some considerations to inform dialogue about the current and potential roles of campus counseling centers that are essential in advancing the ideals and aspirations of Higher Education.
