Nominations Close for E of E Core Group Task Force
Friday, March 31, 2023
Category: AUCCCD Events

We are soliciting nominations (including self-nominations) for the Elements of Excellence (E of E) Core Group Task Force.  We encourage and welcome directors from all types of institutions and professional backgrounds to consider being a part of E of E.  Currently we anticipate four openings for new core members on E of E.  Keep reading for more details and background.  Please keep in mind that we are committed to a Core Group which reflects diversity, not only regarding member identities but also in prioritizing a diverse set of voices and adequately representing the larger membership of AUCCCD.  Currently, we are particularly seeking representation from master’s level directors, directors from schools with fewer than 5k students enrolled, directors from specialized schools (women’s colleges, HBCU’s, medical colleges, etc.), and community colleges to round out the group.

Historical Perspective

The mission of E of E is to provide impetus and structure for AUCCCD to address the following in a coordinated, consistent and collaborative fashion: leadership development, management skills, and creative visioning about current and future issues impacting counseling centers.

The E of E Task Force consists of 12 current AUCCCD members - The “Core Group” - who are nominated and elected to serve.  The Core Group votes on those directors who are nominated and apply, and then forwards recommendations to the AUCCCD Board for final approval for membership on the Core Group. Membership on the Core Group is for a three-year term with an option to renew for one additional term of up to three years.  The Core Group will have openings for four new members to become a part of a great and rewarding professional development experience.  Serving on E of E is also another great way to “give back” to the AUCCCD organization.

Involvement as a Core Group member involves a few responsibilities over the three-year term:

  1. Attend and participate in an annual mid-year (usually late March or early April) meeting to plan programs for the upcoming annual conference.  This meeting typically occurs in a beautiful location in New Buffalo, MI (southwestern Michigan about 1.5 hours from Chicago).  Any costs of the midyear meeting are covered by AUCCCD.
  2. Attend and co-lead E of E Sponsored programs at the annual conference.  Typically, E of E sponsors 5 programs, a day-long or half-day pre-conference program, and the day long New Directors Institute at each conference.  These programs are highlighted in the conference brochure to denote E of E sponsorship.

E of E has adopted a revised set of criteria this year for Core Group Member nominations.  Our hope and intent are for a wide variety of AUCCCD members to see themselves in the revised criteria, and add their voice to the diversity of E of E membership.

Membership criteria are attached. Nominations should highlight the candidate’s qualifications relative to these criteria. Self-nominations are welcome.

In addition to the nomination, all candidates are asked to complete the attached Cover Page for Elements of Excellence nomination and include a current copy of their CV.

Please forward your nominations (self and others) to Jeffrey Ng ([email protected]) by Friday, March 31, 2023.
